Holiday cottages, camping sites, hotels, leisure activities, gastronomy, restaurants, for sale.... all you need for unforgettable holidays or to settle in the Dordogne - Perigord...
This remarkable and typical Perigord manor house - the monumental fireplace of which dates
back to 1680 - is located only 300m from the Auvézère, an affluent of the Dordogne river, supplying water to an ironworks dating back to French King Henry IV.
From Barsac' loggia, one can still see today the former residence of the Ironmaster overlooking the river where fans regularly enjoy kayaking. Barsac nestles in the so-called Perigord Blanc (white périgord area), a good land for truffle and walnut hunters and it is the center of a triangular zone including
Périgueux the departement's administrative capital town,
the lovely village of Hautefort, its prestigious
Château (beautiful gardens à la française), its
Museum of the Medicine, and
the world-famous caves of Lascaux.
All sites to be visited in the Dordogne are within easy reach (less than 1 hour). The Périgueux-Bassillac airport (10 mn from Barsac).
20 years of hard work were necessary to fully renovate this manor house: Michèle now welcomes you in one of
the two most pretty and refined bedrooms she has created in her passionately owned house. A very original bathroom with tub has been created in the round tower of the house.
A delicious breakfast offering all subtle Perigord flavours will be served in the "bolet", this rare and remarkable loggia (to be admired only in genuine old Périgord
houses): scrambled eggs "aux truffes", Autumn "Milla", walnut bread, home-made cakes and crumbles, croissants...
It will also be Michèle's pleasure to help you and advise you on the most interesting visit programmes. Feel free to ask her about the
gardens, the "cannons' trail", chateaus,
festivals, etc....
