TAKE-OFF.
Montgolfières du périgord runs daily sight-seeing flights (upon reservation only) by hot air balloon over the Périgord Noir. Taking-offs are from our duly homologated take-off pad in La Roque-Gageac along the Dordogne river. Whenever possible, take-offs can take place near chateaus. All passengers are driven back in a 4x4 vehicle to La Roque Gageac once flights have been completed and the material stowed.

TIME-TABLE
Take-off times vary with the season, because they depend on sunrise and sunset times. For safety reasons, allied to wind conditions, flights can only take place during the two hours after sunrise or the two hours before sunset.

CAPACITY
Our hot air balloons can to carry 2 to 8 passengers. The pilots chose the balloon for each flight according to the number and weight of the passengers, and to the quantity of fuel on board the balloon.

DURATION
Flights last approx. 1 hour, but the entire adventure lasts 2.5 to 3 hours. As a matter of fact, just remind that the pilot of a hot air balloon cannot steer along a precise route: the balloon goes wherever the wind takes it. As it lands, the team's recovery vehicle, in touch by radio, will be waiting on the spot, ready to take passengers back to the take-off pad at La Roque Gageac. Passengers will be greeted with refreshments on landing, and will also receive a flight certificate.

CLOTHING
No special clothing is needed - you won't feel cold in a hot air balloon. But we recommend passengers to bring a pullover, because it can feel quite fresh on the ground after the flight. For the ladies, we recommend trousers and practical shoes (trainers or flat-heeled shoes). A cap is also welcome.

INSURANCE
Passengers are insured in accordance with the civil liability applicable to airborne craft. The risks are insured for sums comparable to those laid down by the Warsaw Convention for the transport of passengers by air. Personal articles brought by passengers are not covered by our insurers or by montgolfières du périgord.


Cancellation
MONTGOLFIERES DU PERIGORD reserves the right to cancel a flight either for bad weather conditions or if the number of passengers is only 2, or for unsatisfactory safety conditions; Should such cancellation happen, MONTGOLFIERES DU PERIGORD shall in no case be required to pay for the clients' transportation or catering costs.
