he survival of Historical Heritage
depends on two factors: its use and its restoration. This witness to our Civilization and our History enables
us to reconstitute the past in our everyday lives: this is the most difficult task. It is nonetheless
an indispensable one if we want this cultural heritage to be felt as a component of the environment in
which we live.
othing is more depressing than opening the doors of a home
where everything seems frozen in time, where we cannot imagine a human being living and enjoying life. In all these places,
let us not forget that men and women once lived there, with their joys, sorrows, ambitions, and daily activities. Let us try
to recreate this living aspect of our Heritage so that our imagination can grasp the existence of those who came before us.
