he Pontbriant family modernized the double wall design, which constitutes a
very well preserved system of defence, as well as the Renaissance facade of the
residence.
he drawing rooms, decorated with 17th and 18th century woodwork, featuring
beautiful 18th century and Empire furniture, are also adorned with Perigord
portraits from the Renaissance. An interesting library is located in the tower,
and hugs the tower's shape. An exceptional staircase with a 12th-13th century
barrel vault provides access to the underground part of the chateau.
he works of the sculptor Jean Ipoustegy are now exhibited in the garden of this
chateau. Ipousteguy's works can also be admired in many museums in the United
States, Japan, Germany, Great Britain, and France.
The Chateau is open from July 1 to September 30
every day from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm;
from April 1 to June 31
every Sunday and holiday from 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
