Visit of the castle of Pierre de Bourdeille
so-called " Brantôme ", the famous French chronicler
Situated 7 km from Brantôme, in the direction of Angoulême,
château de Richemont is composed of two perpendicular main buildings, linked together by a square tower. It was built
between 1564 and 1581 by Pierre de Bourdeille, Brantôme's priest.
A bad tumble off his horse put an end to Pierre de Bourdeille's career of arms ; he became a writer, wrote his memoirs and lived in Richemont where he died in 1614.
He has been burried in the chapel located in the tower.

Open everyday from July 15. to August 31.
